Limitations of HOCl

While HOCl is a versatile and effective disinfectant, it has some limitations. As a water-based product with oxidant properties, HOCl can cause corrosion on certain metals (other than stainless steel 316 or similar) after prolonged exposure, necessitating the wiping down of metal surfaces post-application.
