Enterococci 100 pack of 20 tests

Enterococci 100 is a culture media used for the detection of Enterococci bacteria in water samples. This media is specifically designed for the selective enrichment and identification of Enterococci and D-Streptococci. It uses a chromogenic substrate, X-GLU, which changes the color of the broth to blue-green when Enterococci are present. The product is packaged in snap packs, each designed for use with 100 ml of water sample.

  • Selective Enrichment: The media contains peptones and sodium-azide to promote the growth of Enterococci while inhibiting other bacteria, particularly Gram-negative bacteria.
  • Chromogenic Substrate: X-GLU is a substrate that is cleaved by the enzyme -D-Glucosidase present in Enterococci, resulting in a blue-green color change in the broth, indicating the presence of Enterococci.
